May be somewhere between 1953 to 1954 my father was posted
as Civil Surgeon Narendra Nagar, Tehri Garhwal. He was assigned to start
hospital on the hilly areas from Narendra Nagar to Rishikesh side. And he made
lot of trips to hill stations e.g. Uttarkashi, and pilgrimage places such as
Gangotri, Jamnotri, Kedarnath Badrinath. Therefore my parents of numerous
saints on the way.
Hence we were there at Swami Tapovananand Asharam,
Uttarkashi and happened to have darshan of
Swamiji Tapovananandji Maharaj. He was seated on wooden cot and we were
on the kutchchaa ground floor applied by
the paste of Cow dung. He was
just telling something to my parents and gave a 'illaichi' (Cardomon) to me. Then said that
this boy doesn’t have his attention on this 'illaichi' (Cardomon) daana. My father told me
the story though I have fading remembrance, perhaps the vibrations of the Kutia
(hut) and the presence of Swamiji took
me to a different level of mental state. Swamiji was told to be reincarnation
of Lord Shiva and followed by Swami Chinmayanandji and the disciples later on.
Therefore it was a wonderful experience of my life.
